Agganna Sutta); the answer to each question must be at least 50

The purpose of these journal entries is for you to engage and
interact with the readings. I’m interested in your ideas, your
reactions, your thoughts. Grading focuses on completeness rather
than content (provided you make an effort to answer the questions
thoughtfully). If you quote or paraphrase from any research sources other than
the course materials, use an informal citation (title, author,
page, website) in parentheses. Failure to do this is plagiarism and
will earn 0 points. 2. Write a journal entry for the Old Testament cosmologies (the
two versions of creation in Genesis); the answer to each question
must be at least 50 words:

As I mentioned in this week’s lecture, we’ve now finished our
study of mythology, focusing on the creation myths of the various
religions and cultures we’ve looked at so far. We’ve seen the roles of women and female deities in those
creation myths (think Tiamat in the Enuma Elish and Eve in Genesis
in the Old Testament). There are definite links between the portrayal of women/female
deities and the misogyny that became (and still is) systemic in the
Western tradition. Do you see sources of that misogyny in the myths we’ve looked
at? What are they? Give specific examples, identifying the creation
myth and woman/female deity by name and religion/culture. How do you think these creation myths have influenced the
misogyny of the West? Write at least two paragraphs, one for each question, or at
least five sentences each. As always, if you quote or paraphrase from a research source
other than the course materials, give an informal citation (title,
author, page or webpage) in parentheses, MLA style (after the quote
or paraphrase). Failure to do this is plagiarism and will earn 0
points. For full credit, write your own answer to the discussion, and
respond to one of your classmate’s posts. When you respond to a
post, make sure to put in the name of the person you’re responding
to, and to write more than just a sentence or two. Give Shannon feedback on her response:
These mythical creations have had a great impact on the Western
civilization by giving men and women the roles that are fit for
them. Genesis says that men are the leaders of their households,
without that the two genders may be fighting to be the boss. One
myth that has affected us is that in Genesis it says Eve ate the
apple causing pain during childbirth, and man having to labor for
his food instead of having it grow freely as it did in the Garden
Of Eden. This is just a couple of things that happened when Eve ate
the apple. If you continue reading it shows the serpent tricked Eve
into eating the apple and Adam ate the apple as well. I don’t think
this reflects poorly on who woman is, I think It shows us that
everyone is human and we all make mistakes.

3.Discussion week 4: Mythology, Creation stories, and
women
In the book of Genesis, it shows how God separates the two
genders, men and woman. God seems to be male. When God created Adam
the first man, he said he was created in his image. Man is given
control over the earth at the time because he was the only human in
existence. The woman is created as man’s companion/ helper so he
won’t be lonely, This show’s God knows our hearts and what we need.
The women’s role is just as important as the man’s because without
women there could be no procreation, humans would be wiped out.
